Registered Herbalist Joanne Kewageshig will be offering a series of herbal health care workshops at the newly opened Lambton Shores Wellness Centre, sponsored by Honey Pot Herbals!

The cost is $50 per workshop or $175 if you register and pre-pay for all four before November 15th, 2015.

Monday, Nov. 23rd, 2015: Herbs for Cold and Flu, 5:30pm – 8:30pm

Learn how to use herbs to prevent and treat colds and flu. Handouts will be provided with information about specific herbs and (1) how they can help strengthen the immune system and prevent colds and flu, and (2) how herbs can help you overcome colds and flu faster. We will also go over which herbs to use for specific symptoms (fever, stuffy nose, coughs, etc), as well as discuss which herbs and herbal preparations are safe for expecting moms, babies and children.

We will also make, taste and take home a herbal tea for treating colds and flu.

Monday, January 25th, 2016: Herbs for Facial and Skin Care, 5:30pm-8:30pm

The food we eat affects everything about our bodies, including the appearance of our skin. Herbs can be used internally and topically to enhance our daily self care and nourish our skin. In this workshop we will discuss herbs which can help treat common skin conditions as well as enhance our natural beauty.

Each participant will learn to make and take home their own, personalized herbal facial toner.

Monday, March 21, 2016: Herbs in Pregnancy, 5:30pm – 8:30pm

Plant medicines are great allies in pregnancy when they can naturally help us to cope with and heal from both common illnesses and pregnancy related health concerns and complications. Joanne Kewageshig is a mother of four midwife caught babies and has used herbs in pregnancy both personally and as a practitioner. Handouts will be provided outlining herbs to use in pregnancy to enhance our health and experience of pregnancy. We will also go over which herbs not to use in pregnancy.

Each participant will blend, sample and take home a nutritional tea for expecting moms.

Monday, May 16, 2016: Herbs for Newborns and Children, 5:30pm to 8:30 pm

Herbs can be powerful helpers in the caregiving of newborns, babies, toddlers, children and postpartum moms. Handouts will be provided outlining common herbs and preparations used for newborns, postpartum moms and babies.

Each participant will learn to make and take home a herb infused oil for nourishing babies skin.

There are 15 spaces for each workshop. Three spots are reserved for subsidized attendees. After the first 6 paid registrants, 1 subsidized spot will be made available.
